Crush Codex (crushcodex.com) is a fan site where readers rate fictional book characters. It is run by Vladyslav Ovadenko in Kraków, Poland, who is responsible for your data. Contact: ovadenko95@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Sign-in: your email address, and if you use Google, the name and email Google shares with us. We never see your Google password.
- Your reader profile: username, who you vote as (girl, guy or rather not say), country and avatar. These are shown publicly next to your ratings and comments.
- Your age: stored privately. Other readers never see it. We use it to keep adult content away from readers under 18 and for anonymous statistics.
- Your activity: ratings, comments, likes, reports and character suggestions. Ratings and comments are public.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To show rankings, including rankings split by girls and guys and, in future, by country.
- To make anonymous statistics such as how many readers come from each country or age group.
- To moderate comments.
We don't sell your data, don't show ads based on it and don't share it with anyone except the services below that run the site.
Services we use
- Supabase stores accounts and site data on servers in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Google handles "Continue with Google" sign-in, if you choose it.
- Google Fonts serves the site's fonts.
Cookies and storage
We store a sign-in session and your language and display choices in your browser. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can edit your profile on the site at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account and everything connected to it, email ovadenko95@gmail.com. If you're in the EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in Poland, the UODO).
